The “When Koala Meets Panda” 2024 China-Australia Short Video Contest has been open for submissions since September 1. Now in its eighth year, this year's theme is "Echoes of Time". We invite young people from China and Australia, as well as past participants, to create and produce short videos that reflect and showcase the deep friendship between the two countries.
The "koala" represents Australians, while the "panda" symbolizes Chinese people in Australia or elements of Chinese culture. The theme of "meeting" serves as a bridge to illustrate the exchange and interaction between China and Australia from personal perspectives.
The contest aims to collect friendly stories from both countries, especially among young people, promoting greater understanding of China in Australia and helping Overseas Chinese better integrate into the Australian community.
The competition is currently open for submissions, having started on September 1, with entries accepted until November 30. Participants can upload their videos on social media platforms.
A panel of professional judges will select four Individual Awards from the finalists: Best Story Award, Best Editing Award, Best Influence Award, and Best China-Australia Cooperation Award, with each winner receiving a prize of 1000 AUD. The Final Prize, "Most Popular in China Award", will be determined from the four Individual Award winners, and the winner will be invited for a one-week cultural exchange trip to China.
